One of my all time favorite characters, Yojimbo played by Mifune Toshiro, in the very first tale of the saga, Yojimbo stumbles across a small town split in two. Yojimbo befriends a small restaurant owner who thinks Mifune should just keep moving. In classic Yojimbo style he decides to stay, and plays one side against the other. There is much to gain from each side, our heroin never takes more than he is owed. Ultimately Mifune finds himself in a precarious position and you begin to wander if this is the end of Yojimbo. Filled with classic Mifune antics, a few good sword fights, and enough plot twist to confuse the most savvy movie goer, this is a must have for any Samurai film fan.
