So a thread in the products section of this forum made me think it might be fun to start a thread on which of the swords in our collection we would carry with us into battle... if no ones read the other thread the person who started it was bascailly thinking of a world where for whatever reason we had to revert to using swords...
anyways for day to day i'd take my paul chen shinto (no bohi), prolonged lord of the rings style fight probably my last legend

As of now it would be my practical XL, but if I ever get my DF Ko kat fixed I'd go with that one I like the shorter blade.

Gentlemen
Now here is a thread i wish to comment on.
As all of my swords are "battle worthy" it would depend,
If you insulted me or one in my family i have the chen Orchid katana and wak, to defend my familie's honor.
In a street brawl, i'd go with my Cheness Kaze, a bersirker(sic) type sword.
A duel i would choose, the orchid again because it's VERY light in the hand and quick.
For In house fighting (close quarters) i'd go with my cheness wak, it has an 11" tuska (more leverage ).
If by misfortune or misdeed i would be ordered to commit seppeku, Then i would use my cold steel warrior o-tanto , i would ask Bob-o to second me.

i love how many different uses you came up with!... i'm limied to three right now sadly... PK (being remounted) shinto, and the LL I think i'd use my shinto for almost everythign as its a lil shorter and much lighter and faster than my other two

DF Ko-Kat would be the first thing I'd grab if the Huns hit the beach. That thing can put out a licking and keep on ticking. And if they use plastic buckets for armour, I'm in like Flynn. Grass cutter(TORI) to defend the clan honor, kukris for in house fun and PPtanto to cut belly. Goose , you wouldn't feel a thing ole buddy.

....My answer is similar to Goose's......ALL my blades are battle ready....I don't own a sword I wouldn't trust with my life.....However I will narrow it down to a few(depending on specific purpose, and in no particular order)........

I am really intrigued by the pictures. Like to see more of the shop?

If I was limited to one sword...it'd have to be a double edged rapier with a 4' blade as used by the Spanish Conquistadors in South America.

all of mine are battle ready but i would have to go with something a little diffrent. ive got a war club i picked up in fiji its not sharp but its got reach is solid as a rock and i dont have to worry about it getting dulled. but if it were unabailable it would be my pke its a bit thin but sharp as anything.

Is it valid to say I'd wanna ride that nasty machine into battle? *points to avatar* I should give rep to whoever can tell me what it is, without cheating (honor system), and what it is armed with (Besides the obvious sword)

A good tomahawk, a vastly underrated weapon. Good call Tay. You weren't in the nam where you?

No only the good warriors like Tora can claim that.

Tomahawk excellent thought, didn't them english guys back then throw them at the opposing army and then charge as they ducked?? unnerving i'd say
and yes Bob-o i still have my tomahawk.

I'd have to go with my custom bolo for the close range. Especially since that's the one I already took to war.

Then my first thought was my Gen2 Chaos swords but I'm not sure of that since my Ritter Steel Braided leather set would give me more flexibility in terms of speed and reach.

Guess if i have to pick I'll take the Ritter Steels they are a bit softer (not much though) so I'll have to make sure to keep them sharp but if they can withstand the kind of abuses I've actually but them through I'm sure they will serve me well.
I'd still like to have the Gen2s for those stabbing required times though.

took some thinking and some time in my worck shop with a grinder and while it doesnt quite work yet the idea sounds cool. heres what i did. first i took a dead broad sword cut down the tang part of the blade to about an inch longer than my arm. then i left the front 5 inches of the blade the same and then grinded both sides of the blade to about an half an inch with as well as the first four in of the blade ubt left the bery end wide and dull. then left another few inches farther up as they were but dulled to ballance it out. then i put in anotch loaded it in my compound bow and let it loose while it flew less than straight the idea of a sword arrow combo still sounds like the best of both worlds tho this ones heading to the scrap pile

Darth Maul's double bladed saber. But seeing as how an actual functional lightsaber isnt being made in the near future.....I guess i'll go with my Hanwei practical XL in hand and my Cold Steel warrior strapped to my back.
