Nice job there bro, I love it when you guys post pics of the process.
I had to chuckle at the 2 menuki lol. you must have been REAL focused on that wrapping=))
I think you should get some ito and re wrap though, only because its always good practice.

EDIT: I meant rewrap just to fix the menuki, I didnt mean to imply anything about the wrap itself.

Oh No I only meant You must have really been focused on getting the folds right to not even notice the menuki, I wasnt trying trying to be sarcastic or anything (for a change) I really meant it, good job man.
I hope I didnt offend you, that was not my intention in the least.
I wish I had the tools/knowledge/nerve to make a new tsuka, especially when you make it look so easy.
I really apologize If my post came off wrong.

CHEERS MATE!

I don’t know what kind of wood it is but when i was buying it i asked the guy it’s for a sword handle and it can’t have any thing in it so it will damage or rust the metal. Looks like he knew what I was talking about. He told me the name but i don’t remember sorry.

No i used the existing mekugi. But that was the hard part i had to use a really small drill bit from inside out so i can get the right place and after I used bigger and bigger size. And one of the hardest things was to get the angle right. After, i used a slightly bigger drill bit on one side.
Every thing fits nice and tight but i do get about 1mm space between the tsuba and the fuchigane. But i did order seppas from Jason for my PPKE it hase the same problem after taking it apart alot it got that way, I will use the 2nd one on the new sword.
