I'm saving my pennies and some day will own a Tamahagane Katana from Zanshin Ironworks & design. Historically accurate and just down right beautiful!

Yep! Go to http://www.zanshinironworks.com.
I met the owner at the Atlanta Blade Show this year. They offer blades from American and Japanese sword makers that work strictly in the Japanese tradition. They are pretty steep for the average Joe, the low end basic is $850 just for the blade. Then you add the furniture at varying cost.
You can also pick up Zen and Samurai scrolls and extremely nice tea bowls at the site. (again...bring your wallet!)
I hope you enjoy it.
Best regards,
Mark

Anthony DiCristafano. The guy is some sort of sword forging God or something. If I had the $10,000 I would buy it right away.

Does it matter that it only has one mekugi ana?

I have heard that means nothing for a real sword and that a lot of authentic katana only had one mekugi ana.
See below. This one is $8,000 on ricecracker and is from the 1800's.

I know that most custom smiths only put 0-1 mekugi ana on a blade. They allow the buyer or person that fits the sword to add a second if so desired
