I was at the local sword store looking for a good boating knife and saw the PC dha on the wall.
THAT is a nice piece of steel!!!

Heavier than I expected but well balanced and I'd love to own two of those.

Anyone have any first-hand experience?

I love the banshee! Used it to clear weeds out of the yard. The first order I received from Hanwei I received a banshee and took it home instead of selling it.:)

i don't know about the banshee , i have a dha from the late 1800's not areal heavy blade but the balance is great and it cuts like a SOB small handle though (those guys sure had small hands) but since it's over a hundred years old wife won't let me put a new handle on it:-<

This has been on my list for some time now, as a tool more then for the collection.

Thanks, Mako. I searched the site for "Paul Chen Banshee Dha" and it returned nothing. Now that I've seen the page, I searched for Paul Chen Banshee" and it came right up.

Odd that the word "dha" would cause it to return no hits? :detective:

I put one on Jason's Ultra-Easy Layaway Program(TM) about two weeks ago and made the second (and final) installment this morning.

I expect this blade will see heavy (read: abusive) use at our 8-acre dojo campus, as the place is still largely overrun with poison-ivy, kudzu, thorny vines and a great many male cedars that fill the air with the bane of allergy-sufferers, everywhere.

Why didn't I just get a macheté? Well, of course, I could have, but while a macheté is a practical tool, it's really not much fun, is it? Besides, if the Banshee turns out to be a little too large or unwieldy in the thicket, I'll have a built-in excuse to get a nice, big Kukhri next, won't I?

Oh... and since I promised Jason that I would... "WOOT!"
