I really like this sword .This is the kind of sword I would use your layaway option for.My only problem with these guys is they use the word nihonto a little to loosely for my tastes.

The Thaitsuki swords seem be very good quality, i have looked into them in the past and heard only good things from them. This model seems to be the most popular. I happen to like the Kumori Japanese Katana the most. http://www.swordsoftheeast.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=10
Sry Jason, i didnt mean to site plug... just wanted to show the sword.

If it is a tamahagane sword, it is made with tamahagane.
