Not being a martial artist and use swords for cutting mats, bamboo, etc.,I was wondering if the Assemble Katanas are dependable for self defense and are they capable of some hard use if necessary.May I ask who are the makers of these swords?
Thank You

They are made in china like so many other swords today. For hard use, they would need to be sharpened. We have not tested them for hard use as of yet....

Thank you, Jason

One other question , if you do not mind.

Are there any stamps on the blade, such as " Made in China " or just the word " China "

Thank you in advance.

Some do have a stamp, others don't. At this price, you are bound to get some good, some not so good.

I got three of them so far, the 29.00 one needs help, but hey for $29.00 the tsuba is worth that, I also have two of the $99.00 ones and they are really nice. My son and I each bought a Masahiro from a store in town and the put it together Masahiro my son got was better (sharper) than the one from the store, and we thought it was pretty nice.
