Your question is a little vague, do you mean, new companies as the likes of Paul Chen, Dynasty Forge, Ryumon, etc.??
far as I know, only decent new company to arise has been... urrr... Munetoshi, a line from Swords and Armory

There's been a small boom of ebay katana seller, you have to search trough a lot of crap to get something decent. Avoid anything that claims "can chop iron"

what type of katana do you have in mind?

in terms of my question i meant manufactures and custom sword makers like cheness or oniforge ( wish i bought one when i had the chance ) . in terms of style i would like something with a deeper sori than the usual shobu zukuri . I want something a little different but it seems to be that different turns out to be inferior a lot of the times . If Jason was still offering the SOM katana i would have jumped all over that as it fits my aesthetic .

Citadel has torizori models with more than an inch; has blades that can be personalized:

As you saw from the website, everything is supervised by a Frenchman. In the U.S.A, for what little they have appeared, have, in forums, received some good support. In Europe enjoy much appreciation. DHN7 Steel is of excellent quality. Most of my student when he wants to move on to a product (a replica, of course) high-level moves to Citadel.
They are well finished, really hand polite and very good cutters.
At prices similar to each other, I, personally, after MAS because steel is L6 (but the worst is koshirae Citadel), I think Citadel far superior to Hanwei , D. Forge, Huanuo, etc..
My personal opinion
