New Conan

Been looking at the trailers for this one and it looks like it's going to be a good one.
Jason Momoa looks to have really captured the Frazetta Conan look, just hope they gave him some blue contacts to really capture the feel of the books also.
Also seen trailers for John Carter (Edgar Rice Burroughs Mars books) coming also.

I hope the "new " Conan works out but for me there can only be ONE Conan
and that would be Arnold! yeah i know it wasn't so great on the acting but it was Just hoky enough to be fun to watch back in the olden days. And because Arnold is my long lost cousin from Austria i gotta go wit him!. a shame they can't make him as an OLD Conan with flash-backs that could work!
Arnold was in that newer film as a cameo with Bruce Willis, "expendibles " i think it was called

My wife has seen the ads for the new Conan on tv and thinks the new guy is great,

Well I have to say the Conan with Arnold will always hold a place in my heart but it was not RE Howard's Conan, I really hope that for once they can capture even a small part of Howard's character. One day I hope they will release Soloman Kane in the US, form what I could tell from the crappy bootleg I saw on the Internet while not following any of Howard's stories it had some of the feel.

Don't get me wrong, I loved Arnold as Conan also. :SandS:
But those of us that read the books, especially those that read them before the movies always will long for a true portrayal of the character.
R.E.Howard was a very prolific writer, his characterizations, descriptions and stories and the mood that they set will always stay in my memories as some of the most enjoyable and memorable stories I have ever read.
What I would like to see is a movie adaptation of "Red Nails", my favorite Howard Conan story. A true S&S horror story.

Beyond The Black River was always mine, possibly because it isn't really a true Conan story... but then I always prefered some of his other characters. Kull, Soloman Kane, El Borak, Bran Mak Morn
