I just recieved my new tanto

Tanto by Kanemoto Signature: Kanemoto
Year Made: Late Koto (1500s)
Forging Pattern: Mokume
Tempering Pattern: Notare
Dimensions: Blade Length: 10 1/16", Negasa: 7", Mihaba: 13/16", Kasane: 1/4", Sori: Uchi-zori"
Mountings: Koshirae with one piece gold Habaki from the Edo period (1800s)
Condition: Koshirae and blade are in excellent condition. The mekugi is a male/female friction fit. This is a nice classic example of a woman's tanto in high quality understated mounts

i can't seem to bring over the pictures yet (i'm at home and working with dial up) will attemp to get a pic posted soon

First I have to say that is an increadible tanto Goose. I recently got a Ka-Bar Tanto #1245 and it was worth every penny. A bit long to carry but for home security it is great.

yes i got the orchid a while ago, that completes the orchid set. this new tanto completes my set of nihonto, the koshirae is from the 1800's , but the blade doesn't look like it was messed with too much, by that i mean it's not in fresh, fresh polish. but it ain't all dulled out or wore out.

i like the k-bar too i have restored some old abused k-bars i wouldn't have any other knife if lost in the wilderness you can trust-em with your life " literaly" they will pry/chop/cut/hack/saw/and hammer an all in one tool.
