Why are they so cool? What is it about swords that lack this key feature that is so attractive? I'll admit, I think that shirasaya style swords definitely have an edge in appearance, although it is a matter of opinion. Despite the impracticality, swords like the Musashi Zetsurin run out of stock almost immediately after they arrive. I've also noticed that on every sword forum I've visited, there seem to be multiple threads talking about shirasayas. Is it all because of movies like Zatoichi?

I liken it to a soda bottle without a lid, or a car without seatbelts. Those aren't cool, so what makes swords the exception?

I love that look in a sword too, its what made me buy the zetsurin. I also have the Ryumon Zatoichi, Musashi shirasaya, and even my first sword was a crappy budk shirasaya. I think the plain look adds a bit of class to the sword.

I love Aikuchi,(fitting mouth), sword mounts too, and how is the Musashi shirasaya? I thought I was the only one who ordered from budk, thats were I got my first bokken, its good qaulity and Ive had it for about a year now. Its still in one piece, and in good shape.
