New Forum version

Just an FYI. You may see the site go down periodically this weekend and today as we are installing the newest upgrade to the forum. This upgrade will add some amazing new things like chat rooms and customizable profile pages. It will also allow members to make and join user groups if they so choose.

I think the new version will allow say someone to visit a profile and carry on a private conversation with that member if they are online. I am not sure though, I guess we will find out!

Ok guys, the new version is up. It seems like little has changed, but I will check around and let you know if I find anything awesome. Let me know if you see any errors or missing pics.

So far what I have seen in the new version is a message board on your user page. You can carry on conversations on your profile page and will be notified when someone else messages you. These mesaages are not private and can be viewed by all registered users.

Also now the ability to make your own groups. Say Bobo wanted to make a Kurgans only group, he can do so. In your user cp it says "join groups" Then you would click make group or add group. If you make one, you can also decide who can join and so on and so forth.

Seems pretty neat and will be cooler as we get more and more members.

Its about time, I have not thrown any children to a pit full of mad and hungry dogs in nearly a fortnight....with bobO as the leader, we might just wind up throwing ourselves to the dogs, and giving the kids our weapons! =))

Too true there can be only one, but a group is one way to collect minions.

If you guys want to use the Tags function when you are posting a new thread, I think it would be a good function for the site. When you make a new thread you just insert some keywords into the place that says "tags". Like if you were making a thread about cool Samurai armor, you would put in the tags cool,samurai,armor. (All tags separated with a comma no space) Then when you click the tags on any thread it will bring you to all posts that have those tags. It is a neat feature. This can only be done when starting a new thread...
