New picture format at Swords of Might

I am trying to get better pics of our products and I was wondering what you think of this:

I think products show up much better on a mostly white backround, but let me know what you think guys. We will be re-doing the entire site's pics, but I need a format first.

I like it but I think the white might wash out the steel, maybe a color with more contrast.

Love the font and the page set up. But I have to agree with what J & BobO said as well. Honestly I would have to see more pics to get a good idea.

I personally like the first one better...And remember for the better swords I would have multiple pics.

I have to say the white has a glare to it and the edge kind of blends in like J said. Maybe neutral colored background?

I like the font and the name on the new pics but the bamboo really is a better contrast the see the blade details better. That zatoichi on the white was really hard to clearly look at the blade. The others not too bad but the white does bleed intot the blades' shines.

Nix the white Jason, Can't see the blade, Or can you make it less glossy? You want the steel to jump out at you.

That does look better so far. Much better contrast with the steel.

That last example looks much better, but it does seem to have too much of a gradiant pattern which may be a distraction from the sword. Perhaps make the gradiant pattern just a little bit less "detailed". That's just my opinion though looking at it at an artistic perspective, but it still looks very nice!

I like this one, it's a little small but it looks like you can see the edge real well. You have some that look like granite like on the celtic war sword and that allows you to see the edge better.

I just have to say that I REALLY like the current picture background, the hardwood one that you've been using. it really looks nice and i dont see how it needs to be changed so bad.

Guys, Jason is not a static individual, he likes change. I would venture to say, he probably drives home from work a different way every day.
For him this is kind of like getting a new tattoo, something new to look at everyday!
I must agree with Ninja though, as most of the swords are Oriental, the wood planking looks more suitable. Why not change the backgrounds on only some of the swords. You know like having different backgrounds for the medieval as opposed to the Oriental?
I do like the the fighting samurai in blue in the moonlight on the home page a lot better than what you had before.

Dotanuki hit the nail on the head. (I am also glad you liked the Samurai header) I need to change to get better. I may not have to change the backround, but it will be done differently. I will put up another example and see what you think...

Now that looks good. I can understand the need to keep others from stealing your photos and I think the name imbedding looks good on the wood there. I can see the details of the blade still on there.

When you guys first said the white background was bleeding into the steel I thought you were crazy 8-} but when I got home and looked at it, it was terrible. My monitor here is very dark, and at home much brighter. So I agree it was too much. :) Anyone else like this one?
