I came across this site http://www.tokenkonnoart.com/index.html, he offers services for Nihonto as well as instructional DVDs, and it just so happens he lives just north of me in the city of Kirkland, I contacted him, and once I have gotten all the DVDs and learned the basics, he will let me come in on the weekends as an apprentice :karate: :ohyeah:

I am excited to watch an expert work, but to be able to learn from someone like that is an honor. He said most of the stuff like tsukamaki and saya making you can learn from watching the videos, but the polishing is really something you have to learn in person. The stones to do the kind of work he does are expensive, but with one of the kits Jason sells, a few good quality stones, and the knowledge of how to do it properly, I should be able to do some decent polishing and sharpening.

Those japonese stones are costly to be sure but then a polisher is only as good as his "stones" Think of a five hundred year old sword put into your hands , that first touch to the stones must be unnerving, for me it would be! keep us informed dude!

For the Nihonto he has I am sure we will be using his stones, for my swords I should be able to do a nice polish with some decent stones and some good tools. Yes, I am sure my nerves will be getting a good workout the first time he lets me work on a sword, but I am confident that with his training I will do fine
